About the experience

In the nation's capital, what's more fitting than a political-themed escape room? In House of Pawns Episode 4, your task is to sneak into Presidential candidate Frederick O'Connor's office to discover incriminating evidence about the closing election. Who's the corrupt campaign manager? Which two states committed voter fraud? How are you going to escape before you get caught snooping? You do not have to have any prior knowledge of Episode 1, 2, or 3 to do this room. However, you can read the descriptions below to get an idea of the story.

Episode 2 Rumor has it that the latest Asteroid Bill will be a real game changer for overcoming America's fossil fuel dependency. As the plot thickens, you discover that the senator's old college pal may have come upon a secret formula capable of converting the asteroid's element into cheap and abundant energy. As an Alternative Energy Lobbyist, you must figure out the secret element and earn your freedom!

Episode 3 The Asteroid Bill has passed the senate and the Concorde project is on schedule. Esteemed scientist Kumar has been found dead and rumors of foul play abound. As the plot (and the smog) thickens, there are many players involved who have a motive to kill Kumar, including Frederick O'Connor and his wife (who was having an affair with Kumar). Mrs. O'Connor has a lot at stake in terms of her political ambitions if the affair becomes public. You will be playing the role of an Oil Lobbyist working for Axeon Corp, breaking into Mr. O'Connor's office in order to obtain evidence surrounding Kumar's demise and use it as a leverage to thwart the Concorde project. You must find the evidence and the key to escape the office- all in 45 minutes!

The first escape room my girlfriend and I tackled in DC coming from Atlanta, and it was a great experience. We tackled the more difficult and experimental room called The House of Pawns, which we could definitely see was different than usual. It was single room and focused more on cleverly themed and brain-racking puzzles. It was really cool to see that this room had evolved many times with a narrative. We really appreciated our game master's genuine attempts to help and push us along and did a great job even when we were the last group to play for the day. This particular room is more for those who are looking for a creative challenge and engagement, and I can definitely say it is a well designed one. ps. Hit us up and we'll go do Insomnia!

My son and I are escape room junkies and we attempted 6 rooms in one day. We saved the escape artist DC for our last 3 rooms. We were concerned because there were just 2 of us and some rooms needed more people. But the host had adjustments in the puzzles to accommodate teams of 2 if needed We had been successful with the first 3 rooms on our quest so we were pumped to see if we could actually do it and escape all of them. We got to the escape artist DC and it is in a little row house. There are no frills here but lots of adventure. We were greeted by our host and he suggested we start with the hardest room first This ended up being good advice since we were pretty mentally-spent after #5 but back to the rooms All of the rooms appear to be really basic but looks can be deceiving. They were all so well themed. The system they use to provide hints was very unique. It was also neat to see new devices and games / challenges. We did all 3 of his rooms but we would definitely do more if/ when they change them up and we are in the area. We did escape all 3 rooms with just the 2 of us. We were physically and mentally wiped out but what an awesome day.

Went with 5 other friends last weekend and we set the high record for House of Pawns! We are a group of 28-29year olds if that helps anyone deciding what room to go to (apparently House of Pawns is the hardest of the rooms). The puzzles are well thought out and clever - something just clicked for us and we were able to get everything with no hints, so we personally could've done more, but I can see if you were stuck, how it could've been tough. It's very logical and was fun to think through. The employee helping us was very nice, especially as one member of our group was running late and he allowed us to wait.
