About the experience

The Bank is an adventure escape room designed and conceptualized by Fox in a Box, Chicago.

You and your band of thieves are informed about the recent deposition of diamonds worth millions in the city bank.

While planning for the theft, you get to notice that there has been a breakdown in the bank's electrical system, deactivating all the alarms for precisely an hour. Life has provided you with the opportunity to rob the bank and become wealthy beyond your wildest dreams, but it requires tons of skills to loot the bank.

About this location

The escape room is located in Dearborn Station at 47 W Polk St suite l5 basement, Chicago, IL 60605.

A white sign with the brand logo guides and directs you to the facility in the station. The venue has an orange door with the logo that invites you to the lobby inside.

The lobby has a welcoming look with white and orange walls. A wooden reception desk at one end of the room receives you as you walk in and prepares you for your adventure.

The room is well-furnished with white tables and comfortable chairs that offer you seats. Several fox dolls decorate the facility and keep you entertained as you wait.

After your adventure, you can take pictures in the lobby with the props and keep memories of your experience.

Q&A

Is there a charge for parking? Also, which room is best for 3 people?

As per Fox in the Box's website, "metered street parking is available at a cost of $4/hour for up to 3 hours. All day "stack" parking is available behind the building (pricing varies by the demand/whim of the attendant)." As for the rooms all of them are designed for a minimum of 3 people and above.

3 friends and I decided to join the bank robbing heist with our leader Libby late December 2019. It was a blast! Libby explained the rules beforehand very clearly and gave us our options - interactive where she's helping with the puzzles or traditional with a built-in clue system. We chose the traditional route and ended up completing the puzzles without using any clue, so we can't speak much about it there. I really enjoyed the puzzles - they're not impossible but definitely take some thought. I also enjoyed the role-playing aspect of it. We were could wear face masks to help with our robber identities. Definitely recommend!

I picked Fox in a Box based off of other reviews I had read, and it did not disappoint. We were in Chicago for my sister's bachelorette party, both she and I are really into escape rooms and have done probably 20-30 in the couple of years. I decided to give Fox in a Box a shot and I'm so glad we did. It is in the lower level of the Dearborn Station (could use a couple more signs, we relied on an awesome sanitation worker to direct us through the building) and we were greeted immediately. We only did the Bank Heist room, I wish we had stuck around for another. The Bank Heist was clever and used puzzles I have never seen before. Everything made sense and flowed, and at one point it was very interactive as we had 'bank guards' do a sweep. Our game master Stephanie was awesome and even drew us post cards after we escaped. Really, really looking forward to making another trip to Chicago to see them again, I think we'll book two rooms this time. Definitely don't miss Fox in a Box, their escape room is top notch.

My husband has recently become obsessed with escape rooms (we have done 5 now) and this place probably has the best and most creative puzzles. We played Bank on Saturday and lost unfortunately, but it was still so much fun! Today we just finished Prison and we won!!! For Bank we had game master Carrie, who was awesome. Today for Prison our warden was Libby, who was also awesome! After having tried 4 different places both in Denver and Chicago, this is definitely one of our favorites! The game masters and all of the staff are always friendly and fun and the plots of the games are so unique. Truly a wonderful experience. We can't wait to try the other rooms soon!
