About this location

The escape room is located in Dearborn Station at 47 W Polk St suite l5 basement, Chicago, IL 60605.

A white sign with the brand logo guides and directs you to the facility in the station. The venue has an orange door with the logo that invites you to the lobby inside.

The lobby has a welcoming look with white and orange walls. A wooden reception desk at one end of the room receives you as you walk in and prepares you for your adventure.

The room is well-furnished with white tables and comfortable chairs that offer you seats. Several fox dolls decorate the facility and keep you entertained as you wait.

After your adventure, you can take pictures in the lobby with the props and keep memories of your experience.

Q&A

Is there a charge for parking? Also, which room is best for 3 people?

As per Fox in the Box's website, "metered street parking is available at a cost of $4/hour for up to 3 hours. All day "stack" parking is available behind the building (pricing varies by the demand/whim of the attendant)." As for the rooms all of them are designed for a minimum of 3 people and above.

Ive played two games at Fox In A Box now and both games have offered unique challenges for me and my friend I played with. Zodiac was her very first room ever and since I work at an escape room place, I got to show her what the escape room world was in ways that allowed her to outshine mee and me assist her. Bunker is also a very great game. It allwed her to use her intelligence and skills in math/critical thinking and honestly I just kinda sat back and helped her but I still had a lot of fun. Fox In A Box is honestly really expensive to play at but what you get in return is surprising, new, and fun rooms . Not to mention the amazing customer service and friendly staff who I got to chat a little bit with about working at an escape room. Fox In A Box is worth every cent you pay and I reccomend it to players looking for a fun challenge but also a great game.

Zodiac Killer with 4 people: I've done 50+ escape rooms and my teammates had done 2 each. This was the best room of the 3 I did in Chicago and the only place I would return to. Staging is amazing, there was a good balance of search and clever puzzles (room doesn't rely on combo locks), and there's excellent use of asynchronous game play. Jacquelyn was a great puzzle master and I like the hint system here was designed to guide us towards completing the puzzle rather than literally giving us the answer. Lobby experience was also friendly and well-run. I would highly recommend giving this place a try!

Have done over 30 escape rooms and Zodiac Killer at Fox in a Box is still by far our favorite. Everyone likes escape rooms for different reasons. This place (zodiac killer theme specifically): -has a variety of puzzles (doesn't use only key locks and combination locks) -room doesn't look homemade (props were well done) -hints made sense -puzzles were intuitive (Challenging but not impossible). Not a fan of escape rooms where they WANT you to fail. -there was a flow to the room and puzzles -no glitches in puzzles -technology usage did not fail/malfunction -friendly staff -pricey but worth its value (am happy to invest in this company to keep them up and running and coming up with more new room concepts) If these are things you don't like in an escape room experience then you wouldn't enjoy Zodiac Killer. Did prison and still have yet to do bunker and bank heist. Looking forward to it!
