About the experience

The Basement is a horror-suspense escape game, designed and conceptualized by The Basement, Los Angeles. It is the first room in the Basement Escape Room series.

You have been kidnapped by Edward Tandy, a cannibalistic serial killer. Interestingly, Tandy has a high appreciation for certain qualities that he tests in his victims. In case he finds you dumb, you will become dispensable to him. For a single chance at survival, you will have to outsmart the man himself. Will you stand strong and live through his excruciating challenges?

The Basement was a great escape room experience! You can tell that the creators put a lot of effort into making the puzzles fun and interactive. I did both rooms and neither one disappointed. I would say 4-5 people is the max you'd want in your party. Super fun and suspenseful 😁
A year ago, we had done the first escape room at The Basement. We were close, but we didn't win. This year, we did the Study escape room and we actually won, with 5 minutes to spare. It was a lot of fun with challenging clues, but still able to solve the puzzle and escape. I do highly recommend the Basement for a great Escape room experience. The staff was great and started off the experience with the story leading up to what we were doing there and were into character, making you believe what was happening.
Amazing escape room I would say atmosphericly this is the best room in the city. In terms of puzzles the basement had good puzzles nothing exceptional, however the amazing live actors and well done creepy atmosphere bring this escape room up to an easy 5 stars. I would highly recommend booking both the basement and study.
