We walk into an empty suite, with no one to greet us. The experience has already begun. True to their word, Strange Bird Immersive is about so much more than escaping a room. When we find Madame Daphne, I feel a nervous excitement for the next sequence of events, as I have no idea what to expect. Her study has the right lighting to set the mood and beautifully written nuggets of medium wisdom, and the time we spend there contains elements that make it feel like a custom experience just for us. Even waiver signing integrates seamlessly with the story. When the seance begins, it's so immersive that I'm only comforted by the knowledge that...this is an escape room and not real? And as we proceed through puzzles, I'm amazed by the custom set pieces that fit with the Houdini theme, the incredible use of lighting and sound, and how we uncover more secrets as we proceed. I even grow to care about what happens to Madame Daphne. By the end, I've gone through a diverse array of emotions--dread, sadness, hope, intrigue. Out of the over 100 rooms I've completed, there have only been two other rooms (Lab Rat in Los Angeles and Storykeeper in Seattle) that evoked such feelings, where I felt like I was transported into a new world and became part of the story. As an escape room enthusiast that appreciates a good story, I traveled from the Bay Area to Houston just for this room, and it was well worth it. Strange Bird is, no doubt, a place that people should check out.

From the great acting to the advanced technology to the incredibly well thought-out puzzles, Strange Bird Immersive is as well-rounded and immersive as an escape room can get. Haley and Cameron are wonderful people and they went above and beyond to accommodate my special request to work a secret proposal into the experience! I would highly recommend Strange Bird Immersive to escape room veterans and beginners alike for a truly unique experience!

By far the best escape room experience I have ever done. From the moment you enter Madam Daphne's parlor you are immersed in an experience that goes beyond the traditional escape room. Strange Bird's use of immersive theater and have it interwoven into an Escape Game is beautifully done and makes the impact of completing it so much more satisfying. This experience is full of twists and turns, and emotional connections that you don't get with your basic lock and key escape rooms. If you are looking for an Escape Room in Houston and love immersive experiences, this is an ABSOLUTE MUST DO!
